ADVOCACY OPTIONS

Project ABLE is a state-wide coalition of AIDS service providers, advocates and people living with HIV/AIDS/HCV. Since the early 1990’s, Project ABLE has successfully increased state funding for HIV/AIDS by working effectively with several governors and their respective administrations, the Massachusetts legislature, and through mobilizing a grassroots network of HIV/AIDS service providers, advocates, and people living with HIV/AIDS/HCV.

The Getting To Zero coalition was established to revitalize and redefine the HIV/AIDS agenda for advocates in the Commonwealth. The revitalized and motivated new generation of advocates, some of who have been combating HIV for 30 years and have been transformed by new technologies, tools, and energy, have brought us where we are today. Now is the time to broaden participation. When we bridge divides and create allies between generations, between racial/ethnic communities, genders, sexual orientations, HIV statuses, and faiths we multiply our strength and expand the scale of our impact. Getting To Zero MA shares a vision for the Commonwealth of zero new HIV diagnoses, zero AIDS-related deaths, and zero stigma.

AIDS Action and Fenway Health advocate for legislation and budget priorities that align with its mission to serve the LGBTQIA+ community, those living with HIV/AIDS, and those who are vulnerable to healthcare access inequities. Healthcare inequity is a racial justice issue, affecting people who are LGBTQIA+, people who inject drugs, people experiencing homelessness, and other marginalized communities. We are committed to breaking down barriers, and work towards the principal that healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
